Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein having laccase activity excellent in heat resistance and durability; to provide a polynucleotide encoding the protein; to provide a method for producing the protein; and to provide a method for simply obtaining the polynucleotide. SOLUTION: There are provided: the protein having the laccase activity and having an amino acid sequence with one or more modifications and selected from specific amino acid sequences and the amino acid sequence in which one or more amino acids are deleted, replaced, inserted or added; and the polynucleotide originated from meta genome DNA extracted from a compost sample and encoding the protein having the laccase activity.
