PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device and an electronic device capable of enhancing display quality. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal device 11 having a liquid crystal layer 15 interposed between first and second substrates 12 and 13 and including a seal guide 16 regulating a planar range of the liquid crystal layer 15 and a sealing material 14 for making the first and second substrates 12 and 13 adhere to each other, the seal guide 16 has a first ring-shaped partition 16a regulating the planar range of the liquid crystal layer 15 and a second ring-shaped partition 16b arranged at an interval from the first partition 16a and larger than the first partition 16a, a recessed part 18 having thin thickness is formed in at least either one of the first and second substrates 12 and 13 in the part of the second partition 16b superposed on the first or second substrate 12 or 13, a gap 23 is formed between the second partition 16b and the recessed part 18, and the sealing material 14 is packed between the first and second partitions 16a and 16b in the seal guide 16.
