APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FORMING OPTICAL TRANSMISSION MEDIUM, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OPTICAL TRANSMISSION MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission medium forming apparatus, in which cracks are hardly caused in an optical transmission medium, and desired radius of curvature is accurately obtained when part of the optical transmission medium bridged in a predetermined space is heated from above at non-contact and bent. SOLUTION: The optical transmission medium forming apparatus includes: a non-contact heating means 16 which heats at non-contact part of the optical transmission medium f bridged in the predetermined space; bending fixtures 12, 14 for applying force on the optical transmission medium f for bending; and a propping-up member 17 which is made to contact with the bottom of the heated part of the optical transmission medium f by the non-contact heating means 16.
