WHEEL GUARD DEVICE FOR EXTENSIBLE/CONTRACTIBLE JOINT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel guard device suitable for the application to an installation section of an extensible/contractible joint. SOLUTION: This wheel guard device 10 to be installed in the extensible/contractible joint 4 constituted by supporting a pair of tong rail 6 and receiving rail 5 being in contact mutually in the direction of width through the floor board 9 on a sleeper 1 includes a pair of support members 11 arranged on the sleeper 1 and on an inner side of the pair of tong rail 6 and the receiving rail 5 and a pair of guard rails 12 supported on the pair of support members 11, respectively, and extended along the rails 5, 6 on the inner side of the pair of tong rail 6 and the receiving rail 5. The support members 11 are provided on the floor board 9 on the opposite side to the receiving rail 5 for the tong rail 6, and a rail brace 14 supporting the tong rail 6 is provided between the tong rail 6 and the support member 11 and is supported on the floor board 9.
