Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing carbon nanofibers which enables to produce carbon nanofibers using an ethylenic hydrocarbon and hydrogen as raw materials and using a catalyst containing a metal made of iron or nickel or an alloy of iron or iron and nickel, and in which in order to reduce the cost of a raw material gas, process exhaust gas containing carbon dioxide is incorporated as a raw material into the raw material gas. SOLUTION: The method for producing carbon nanofibers is characterized in that carbon nanofibers are generated by supplying a mixed gas containing carbon dioxide in a raw material gas containing a hydrocarbon and hydrogen, and bringing the mixed gas into a reaction at a predetermined reaction temperature using a catalyst containing a metal made of Fe or Ni or an alloy of Fe or Fe and Ni.
