LEAD-ACID STORAGE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid storage battery that prevents breakage of an ear part, or the like, of an electrode plate caused by the vibration of an electrode-plate group, when each electrode-plate fixing member is peeled off from an inner wall of a cell chamber due to strong vibration in the lead-acid storage battery having a structure in which the electrode-plate group fixing members, jointed to the upper part of the electrode-plate group and the inner wall of each cell chamber, are provided at the upper part of the electrode-plate group, inserted into each cell chamber of a battery case, so as to fix the electrode-plate group to the battery case. SOLUTION: The lead-acid storage battery includes each insulating-resin-made electrode-plate group fixing member 22 for fixing the upper part of the electrode-plate group 6 inserted into each cell chamber, to the battery case 2. A bag-like separator 13 and a mat separator 14 are used, in combination in the lead-acid storage battery; the bag-like separator is made of polyethylene and covers a negative-electrode plate 8, constituting the electrode-plate group; the mat separator is made of glass fibers and is in contact with the electrode-plate surface of a positive-electrode plate 9; and at least the electrode-plate group fixing member 22 includes the bag-like separator 13 and the mat separator 14 in part.
