DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD FOR INFORMATION DISPLAY DEVICE, AND THE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control method for an information display device and the device, allowing previous recognition that traffic information is displayed from beyond a legible distance, and allowing reduction in power consumption. SOLUTION: In this display control method for the information display device, lighting is performed in a first lighting state for making display read, when it is decided that a vehicle is positioned in a position wherein the traffic information is legible, and lighting is performed in a second lighting state for arousing attention to that the traffic information is displayed, when it is decided that the vehicle is not positioned in the position wherein the traffic information is legible. In the first lighting state, a display part displayed with the traffic information and an attention light arousing the attention are respectively lighted in a first display luminance and in a first lighting luminance corresponding to an illuminance of the circumference. In the second lighting state, the display section is lit in a second display luminance which is lower than the first display luminance, and the attention light is lit in a second lighting luminance which is higher than the first lighting luminance, or the first lighting luminance.
