Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component which contains two or more hidden images for authentication and antiforgery purposes and in which the images are successively revealed and concealed when the optical component is held between two polarizers. SOLUTION: The optical component contains one or more optical retarders in which the images are embedded in separate adjacent stripes or areas and each image is associated with a different mode of interaction with polarized light.
