Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of improving numerical aperture better than heretofore even when the total number of pixels constituting a display area is equal to that in the conventional practice and capable of providing a low-cost driving circuit for signal lines by reducing the total number of the signal lines. SOLUTION: The display device has a display area 50 in which a plurality of pixels 30 are arranged in a matrix shape, wherein the pixel 30 is composed of N pieces of subpixels 35 corresponding to N primary colors (N= an integer of 3 or more) for performing the color display, and the subpixels 35 include scanning lines 2, a signal line 3 intersecting the scanning lines, switching elements controlled by the scanning lines 2 and a pixel electrode 7 connected with the signal line 3 via the switching elements. In the pixel configuration, the scanning lines 2 of N pieces corresponding to N pieces of subpixels 35 are arranged in parallel to form a group between the subpixels 35 and the signal line 3 of common one piece corresponding to the N pieces of subpixels 35 is arranged between the subpixels 35 and is connected with the switching elements of the N pieces of subpixels 35.
