GARBAGE DISPOSAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage disposal capable of preventing odor from diffusing indoors when garbage is put in thereinto during drying. SOLUTION: The garbage disposal includes: a garbage treatment container 21 for storing garbage; an injection lid 32 for throwing in garbage; an adsorbing deodorization part 36 for removing odor component by adsorbing; a suction passage 39 for connecting the garbage treatment container 21 and the upstream of the adsorbing deodorization part 36; an air passage 61 for connecting the outside with the upstream of the adsorbing deodorization part 36; a suction means 44 that is installed in the exhaust passage 41; and a switching means 64 for switching the connection with the upstream of the adsorbing deodorization part 36 to the suction passage 39 or the air passage 61. In response to the opening operation of the injection lid 32, the suction means 44 starts driving and concurrently the switching means 64 connects the suction passage 39 to the upstream of the adsorbing deodorization part 36, with a prescribed period of suction elapsing thereafter. Alternatively, in response to the closing operation of the injection lid 32, the switching means 64 connects the air passage 61 to the upstream of the adsorbing deodorization part 36, with the driving of the suction means 44 continued for a prescribed period for regeneration.
