Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel for carburization, for which excessive carburization is suppressed in any heat treatment condition of the carburization, and which can acquire superior cold forgeability and fatigue strength. SOLUTION: The steel has a composition including, by mass%, 0.10-0.35% C, 0.01-0.50% Si, 0.3-1.5% Mn, at most 0.02% P, at most 0.03% S, 0.01-0.05% Al, 1.0-3.0% Cr and 0.008-0.035% Sb, in such a range as to satisfy following expression (1): 150[% Sb]+3[% Si]-[% Cr]≥0 wherein each character in [ ] represents mass% of the element.
