PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device allowing a user to efficiently retrieve and view captured images. SOLUTION: A digital camera is provided with: an imaging element 21 for photoelectrically converting a light-received subject image and outputting an image signal; an image processing section 22 for converting the image signal into image data; a storage medium 28 for storing an image file including the image data and date/time information indicating the date/time when the image data are created; a display section 24 to display a calendar thereon; a selection frame indicating the date being selected while being superimposed on the display of the calendar; an operating section 30 for moving the selection frame by date; and a control section 20 for prohibiting the selection frame from being moved to any other date of the image file being stored in the storage medium 28, on the basis of the date information.
