STEEL PIPE PILE AND PENETRATION METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe pile which does not disturb a bearing layer, and a penetration method for the steel pipe pile. SOLUTION: This steel pipe pile 1 penetrates the ground by being pushed or driven downward while being rotated. A protrusion 3 protruding outward is integrally provided on an outer surface in a position at a predetermined distance from a penetration-direction end of the steel pipe 2 to a back end side. The fluctuation of resistance, which acts on the steel pipe pile from the ground and which is generated because the protrusion 3 reaches the bearing layer 13 when the steel pipe pile penetrates the ground 11, is detected; and penetration is stopped in a position to detect the fluctuation of the resistance.
