DEVICE AND METHOD FOR COMPUTING AMOUNT OF INK CONSUMPTION AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can accurately compute the amount of ink consumption in advance without any help of manpower. SOLUTION: The device 1 for computing the amount of ink consumption is equipped with a frequency distribution creation means 10 which creates the frequency distribution of a dot percentage for each ink color used in gravure printing, and an ink consumption amount calculation means 11 which calculates the amount of ink consumption of each ink by first referring a cell volume table 12 which stores a relationship between the class of the dot percentage and the cell volume at each printing plate condition, and then by multiplying the aggregated cell volume acquired by executing, at each class of the dot percentage, a process of multiplication between the number of pixels shown by the frequency distribution of the object item and the cell volume acquired from the printing plate condition of the object item with the aggregated printed number of picture images to be printed on the object item.
