PRESS-FORMING METAL DIE FOR THROW-AWAY CHIP, AND THROW-AWAY CHIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press-forming metal die capable of manufacturing a formed body with a sharp edge, at the upper edge having no rubbing wear and burrs generated in press-forming, and to provide a press-forming method using the same press-forming metal die. SOLUTION: The press-forming metal die 1 for a throw-away chip includes: a die 2 having a through-hole 5 inside, which penetrates from an upper face through a lower face; and a pair of punches, a first punch 3 and a second punch 4, which are fitted into the through-hole 5 from the upper face and from the lower face of the die 2. At least one of the first punch 3 and the second punch 4 has such a shape as to continuously form a rake face 7, a cutting edge 8, and a part of a flank face 9 of a formed body 6 for a throw-away chip.
