Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seaweed establishment base for seaweed banks which has no possibility of eluting soluble alkalies, in which the establishment rate of seaweed seeds and spores increases, and in which the rhizoid or root of seaweed tend to be established. SOLUTION: The seaweed establishment base for seaweed banks is composed of the porous sintered compact produced by the method including: a step of mixing together 10-27 wt.% of a pulverized product of one or more of pottery, insulator, firebrick, and natural igneous rock, having a particle size of not less than 5 μm and less than 300 μm, 63-70 wt.% of the pulverized product having a particle size of 300-1,000 μm, and 10-20 wt.% of natural glassy mineral having a particle size of 50 μm or less to each other; a step of adding a predetermined amount of moisture and organic binder, and kneading the mixture; a step of molding the kneaded product into a predetermined shape; then, a step of sprinkling ceramic particles which are formed in a predetermined size not exceeding 300 μm on the whole surface of the kneaded product to cover, while the organic binder is still in a wet state to keep adhesiveness; and a step of drying and the kneaded product, on the whole surface of which the ceramic particles have been sprinkled, and baking the dried kneaded product at 1,000-1,500°C.
