OFDM RECEIVER AND TRANSMITTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize the arrangement of a pilot carrier in a ground digital broadcasting as it is, and compute the response of a transmission line in response to a reception form. SOLUTION: A receiver 20 receives OFDM signals orthogonally encoding the pilot carriers at fixed places in transmission systems Tx1 and Tx2 as the OFDM signals utilizing the arrangements of the pilot carriers in ground digital broadcasting as they are. A transmission-line information generator 100 for an orthogonal pilot separation circuit 26 decides the reception forms on the basis of the amplitudes of the pilot carriers. A pilot-position transmission-line response computer 90 computes the responses of the transmission lines by using the reception pilot carriers in the time-axis direction for the reception form at the time "when the receiver 20 is at rest" and the responses of the transmission lines by using the reception pilot carriers in the frequency-axis direction for the reception form at the time "when the receiver 20 is moving" respectively.
