PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a license management server capable of enhancing convenience. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: an HDD 103 that stores therein a license file recorded with an expiration date of a license of an application and a class of the license; a detection unit 133 that acquires the expiration date from the license file and detects whether the acquired expiration date has passed; a class identification unit 134 that determines a class of the license whose expiration date has been detected from the license file; an update processing determination unit 135 that determines a method of performing update processing based on the class; a license file acquisition unit 137 that acquires a license file from the license file management server based on the determined method of performing the update processing; and a replacement unit 138 that replaces the license file stored in the HDD 103 with the acquired license file.
