Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device which stably moves in rotation two casings through gear. SOLUTION: The portable terminal device is equipped with: a first casing 102 shaped in plane; a second casing 104 shaped in plane which can be superposed to the first casing 102; a first gear 112 fixed to a side surface section of the first casing; a second gear 114 fixed to a side surface section of the second casing; and third gear 116 which is arranged between the first gear and second gear and rotates by gearing the first gear and second gear. The first casing and second casing move in rotation with the third gear as the center in such a manner that a phase of tooth of the first gear engaging with the third gear and a phase of tooth of the second gear engaging with the third gear are kept identical while rotating the third gear.
