VEHICULAR FORWARD AND REVERSE TRAVEL DETERMINATION DEVICE AND VEHICULAR CONTROLLER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular forward and reverse travel determination device and a vehicular controller, which enable, despite of having a simple and inexpensive structure, an elaborate control for permitting a burden on a vehicle to be alleviated with a driver-friendly smooth traveling realized by obtaining the traveling direction of the vehicle. SOLUTION: The vehicular forward and reverse travel determination device comprises a vehicular forward and reverse travel information obtaining means (an ECU 4, a G sensor 12, etc.) for obtaining, as information, the direction in which a vehicle in abeyance has started, a driver's intention obtaining means (a shift/select stroke sensor 9, etc.) for obtaining a vehicle driver' s intention based on operating information, and a determination means (the ECU 4) for determining which of a forward or reverse travel is being performed, as well as whether the direction in which the vehicle in abeyance has started is dependent on the driver's intention or not based on the direction, in which the vehicle in abeyance has started, obtained by the vehicular forward and reverse travel information obtaining means and the driver's intention obtained by the driver's intention obtaining means.
