Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing the aluminum titanate based fired body having sufficient strength and capable of keeping the shape after firing in burning out or firing an organic additive, and to provide a ceramic molding. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the aluminum titanate based fired body, a raw material mixture containing inorganic compound source powder containing aluminum source powder and titanium source powder and the organic additive is molded and the resultant molding is heated to 150-900°C to burn out the organic additive and next, is fired at ≥1,300°C, wherein the content of particle having ≤0.1 μm particle diameter in the inorganic source powder is 1-5 pts.mass per 100 pts.mass inorganic compound source powder.
