Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission station and a transmission system preventing an interference between identical broadcast wave signals at the transmission station as much as possible and securing a large service area with a small number of transmission stations, in regard to a digital broadcasting system using a single frequency. SOLUTION: The transmission station includes a broadcast data receiving means for receiving broadcast data from a broadcast center facility, an encoding means for encoding the broadcast data to encoded data, a modulating means for modulating the encoded data to a broadcast wave signal, and an antenna transmitting the broadcast wave signal using the single frequency. The antenna is a directional antenna. The antenna includes a delay means for delaying the broadcast wave signal output from the modulating means, a delay time calculating means for calculating a delay time based on a distance from an upper station of the broadcast wave signal, and a delay time setting means for setting the delay time in the delay means.
