SOLUTION: A mixture containing alkali metal carbonates, 11-chloro-dibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepine and an organic solvent at the reflux temperature of the organic solvent is added to 2-(2-hydroxyethoxy)ethyl-1-piperazine, and the 11-chloro-dibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepine and the 2-(2-hydroxyethoxy)ethyl-1-piperazine are allowed to react.
