METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SYNTHESIZING IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for compositing an image capable of imaging an object that may cause halation for compositing an image that maintains the magnitude relation of original luminance values that does not cause halation. SOLUTION: A plurality of original images of an object are shot, by changing exposure time between the shortest exposure time that never causes halation in a desired range of the object and the longest exposure time that may cause halation, at least at a part; an exposure luminance line I, representing a relationship between the exposure time and the luminance value of a pixel at the same position of the object is obtained for all the pixels in the desired range of the object from the plurality of original images; in the dynamic range of a camera, a point H of a high luminance value, when the exposure time is short is connected to a point L of a low luminance value, when the exposure time is long to set a luminance setting line G without having an extremum value; intersections between the luminance setting line G and the exposure luminance line I of the respective pixels are obtained for all the pixels constituting the desired range; and a composited image of the object is generated, by using the luminance values B of the intersections as luminance values of the pixels.
