PRINTER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically calculate a correction value to correct the driving amount of each of driving sources for driving a Y bar. SOLUTION: The driving motors 44a and 44b for conveying the Y bar 30 in an X-axis direction, rotary encoders 45a and 45b for detecting the rotation amounts of the driving motors 44a and 44b, and linear scales 50a and 50b are provided to a flat bed 10 on which a media is placed and fixed. Optical linear encoders 51a and 51b for detecting the linear scales 50a and 50b and directly measuring the moving amount of the Y bar 30 are provided to the Y bar 30 on which a head unit 20 is mounted. A control unit 60 is configured to calculate the correction values to correct the driving amounts of the driving motors 44a and 44b on the basis of the driving amounts detected by the rotary encoders 45a and 45b and the moving amounts directly measured by the optical linear encoders 51a and 51b.
