Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent embolic substance wastes which may be generated when expanding an embolized and stenosed affected site in the blood vessel using a balloon and a catheter from scattering into a blood vessel. SOLUTION: A protecting stent 40 placed in the embolized and stenosed affected site 62 in the blood vessel 60 is characterized in that a plurality of thin wires constituted of a shape memory material are made to cross each other and knitted in a longitudinal direction while forming gaps between knitted stitches of a diamond shape to form a hose-shaped body whose both ends are open, knitted length is set longer than the length of the embolized and stenosed affected site, knitted outer diameter is set larger than the inner diameter of the blood vessel after expanding the embolized and stenosed affected site, the knitted diamond-shaped gaps between the knitted stitches is set into a thinness capable of collecting the embolic substance wastes when expanding the embolized and stenosed affected site, and the stent is provided with superelasticity while memorizing the knitted outer diameter and length.
