Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video-recording/playback apparatus and method thereof, in which a start time can be settled within a fixed time by changing processing when starting a storage medium integrated drive and a separable drive. SOLUTION: The video-recording/playback apparatus (1) includes medium integrated recording devices (301, 501, ..., n), with each of which a recording medium for recording contents is provided integrally, and at least three or more recording medium separable recording devices (201). In the video-recording/playback apparatus for recording contents in any arbitrary recording device, the recording device to be preferentially started when powering-on is determined based on a recording device, which has been operated when powering-off, and preferential start permission information prepared for a recording device to which preferential start can be set.
