OBJECT DETECTION DEVICE AND LEARNING DEVICE FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high precision object detection device that can suppress an increase in a processing load, and a learning device for the same. SOLUTION: The object detection device includes a characteristic extracting part 390 which sets a rectangular template 1010 constituted of a plurality of rectangular blocks in an image window 1001, calculates a reference luminance value based on the luminance value of the rectangular blocks included in the rectangular template 1010 and an individual luminance value about each of the rectangular blocks, calculates a pattern 1110 as spatial distribution information to identify the rectangular blocks from magnitude relation between the reference luminance value and the individual luminance value of each of the rectangular blocks, and uses the spatial distribution information to determine whether an image in the rectangular template 1010 includes an object.
