Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band saw having a small cutting edge thickness and capable of attaining high durability without complicated work. SOLUTION: The band saw 10 includes an endless belt 12. On one end side of the belt 12 in the width direction, there are formed a plurality of U-shaped cut portions 14 at intervals. Between these U-shaped cut portions 14, cutting edges 18 are firmly fixed. The cutting edge 18 is formed by bending a sheet material for a cutting edge whose plane shape is rectangular, for example, into a substantially U shape. The sheet material for the cutting edge is formed by bonding abrasive grain particles on a top face of a base material in a multiple-layer or a double layer structure using a thin metal layer. The sheet material for the cutting edge is firmly fixed on the belt 12 by brazing or the like while being bent along an end shape of the belt 12 after a central portion of the lower surface is pressed against a one-end side (upper end) face of the belt 12 in the width direction.
