PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for eliminating the inconvenience of a user who wants to use soon but cannot while performing heating protection. SOLUTION: An image pickup device 1 includes: an image pickup part 100 for performing the photoelectric conversion of light passing through a lens; an image pickup control unit 110 for controlling the image pickup part 100; an internal temperature measurement part 150 for measuring an internal temperature of the device 1; and a luminance control unit 170 for controlling an average luminance value of display by a display part 130 in accordance with the internal temperature measured by the internal temperature measurement part 150.
