CONTROLLER FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a vehicle capable of performing control suitable to a vehicle model or a destination without preparing a ROM for the vehicle model or the destination, and furthermore, also without writing the ROM into a nonvolatile memory of a controller for a vehicle for the vehicle model or the destination at a manufacturing line even in the controller for the vehicle in which a memory vacant area cannot be secured sufficiently. SOLUTION: A plurality of blocks of a nonvolatile memory 120 are used as a program area, an ordinary data area, and a memory backup area. A CPU 110 stores data for all vehicle models or destinations in the memory backup area until a vehicle model or a destination is selected and copies the data for a selected vehicle model or the destination from the memory backup area to the ordinary data area of the nonvolatile memory after the vehicle model or the destination is selected.
