PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment wherein backup is triggered by a user registration operation a user actually performs to use the electronic equipment rather than an operation for turning on the power of the electronic equipment, the user registration operation is an operation for registering user registration items, and when an user registration operation is performed, a secondary battery and a load are interconnected for conduction and backup is started. SOLUTION: The electronic equipment includes a main power supply, a backup secondary battery using the main power supply as a charging power supply, a load using the secondary battery as a backup power supply, a power supply line connecting the secondary battery and the load together, a switching circuit that connects or disconnects the power supply line, an operating part for performing a user registration operation, and a control part that controls the switching circuit as follows: even when the main power supply is turned on, the power supply line is not connected and when a user registration operation is performed at an operating part, the power supply line is connected.
