SYSTEM FOR PREVENTING REVERSE RUNNING OF VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for preventing reverse running of a vehicle which warns a driver that the vehicle is running on an entrance road when the vehicle leaves a service or parking area before it enters a freeway and preventing reverse running of the vehicle on the freeway. SOLUTION: The system for preventing reverse running of a vehicle includes: a map data storage means; an own vehicle position information acquisition means; an entry detection means for detecting an own vehicle's entry into the service or parking area from the freeway from map data of the map data storage means and an own vehicle position of the own vehicle position information acquisition means; an entrance road storage means for storing a boundary area between the freeway and the service or parking area as the entrance road when the entry detecting means detects entry; an entrance road running detection means for detecting running of the own vehicle on the entrance road from the map data and the own vehicle position; and a warning means for warning a driver when the vehicle runs on the entrance road.
