Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding bearing achieving suitable treatment of chips, a fixing unit incorporated with the sliding bearing, an image forming device incorporated with the fixing unit, and a sheet material conveying unit incorporated with the sliding bearing. SOLUTION: The sliding bearing supports a journal of a rotor receiving an external force component orthogonal to a rotation center axis. A sleeve of the sliding bearing includes a first inner face region contacting an outer peripheral surface of the journal, and a second inner face region not contacting the outer peripheral surface of the journal. The second inner face region comprises a gradient plane inclined so as to separate away from the journal toward a longitudinal center position of the rotor from an end face of the journal.
