Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable filter reduced in weight, having high filtering efficiency and productivity. SOLUTION: The filter includes a first casing structure member (lower casing 2) having an inflow port 2a, a second casing structure member (upper casing 3) forming a filtering chamber 4 between the first casing structure member and itself and having an outflow port 3a, and a pleat-like filter medium 5 housed in the filtering chamber and having pleat ridge parts 13 and flat parts 14. The second casing structure member is formed of a laser translucent resin and has side wall 11a, 11b in contact with side edges of the pleat ridges of the filter medium. The filter medium is formed of a laser absorbing resin. Each of the first casing structure member and second casing structure member is provided with holding parts 17, 18 holding the flat parts of the filter medium, the flat parts of the filter medium are welded to the holding parts by the laser beam L1 emitted to the direction crossing the holding face of the holding parts of the second casing structure member. The side edges of the pleat ridges of the filter medium are welded to the side walls by the laser beam L2 emitted to the direction crossing the wall face of the side wall of the second casing structure member.
