Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preserving DNA integrity even in a sample wherein the DNA to be detected exists in a lower ratio to the other DNAs in the sample and rapidly degraded.SOLUTION: There are provided methods for extracting DNA from a biological sample that result in a higher yield of the target DNA than conventional methods. More particularly, methods for extracting DNA include exposing the biological sample to inhibitors of DNA degradation. The method suppresses enzyme-mediated DNA degradation and provides a method for preserving DNA integrity in the sample. The preservation of integrity of the DNA facilitates isolation and detection of the DNA.
