Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To soften the material and enhance the punchability (particularly, to suppress punching burr) of a high-carbon steel sheet which contains 0.65-0.85 mass% C.SOLUTION: The soft high-carbon steel sheet which causes little punching burr includes, by mass%, 0.65-0.85% C, 0.05-0.4% Si, 0.5-2.0% Mn, 0.005-0.03% P, 0.0001-0.006% S, 0.005-0.10% Al, 0.0010-0.01% N and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities; and has (i) a hardness of 170 HV or less, and (ii) a structure in which an area occupied by carbides with 0.5 μmor less is 15% or less of the total area of carbides, in a cross section in a thickness direction of a sheet before a final cold rolling step.
