FEED DEVICE AND RECORDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed device for keeping a space between stacked recording mediums and a feed roller when finishing feeding operation without increasing a drive load.SOLUTION: The feeding device includes an up-and-down movable pressure plate on which the recording mediums are stacked, the feed roller for feeding the recording mediums stacked on the pressure plate, an energizing means for energizing the pressure plate to approach the feed roller, and an isolating means for isolating the pressure plate from the feed roller against the energizing force of the energizing means. The isolating means moves the pressure plate to keep a distance between the uppermost medium of the stacked recording mediums and the feed roller almost constant independently of the number of the recording mediums stacked on the pressure plate.
