Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase in the internal resistance due to conductive substrate rapture or internal short circuit due to burrs of the conductive substrate, in a cylindrical type alkaline storage battery, and to improve its reliability.SOLUTION: The cylindrical type alkaline storage battery includes an electrode group with a structure obtained by winding a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator. The positive electrode continues from an end surface upper end on the winding start side and includes an active material non-holding portion which is not less than 3 mm and less than 20 mm from the upper side. A positive electrode lead is fixed to the active material non-holding portion so as to protrude from the upper end of the positive electrode. Both the front and the back surfaces of the active material non-holding portion, including a fixed portion of the positive electrode lead, are covered with an insulating layer. The insulating layer is adhered or welded to the end surface on the winding-start side of the active material non-holding portion, or the insulating layer has a structure bent of a single insulated component, on the side surface on the winding start side of the positive electrode. |
