Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a conjugated diene such as butadiene by catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation of a monoolefin such as n-butene, wherein butadiene is prevented from polymerizing so that the operation can more safely be carried out and butadiene is stably produced at a higher yield.SOLUTION: The method for producing a conjugated diene including supplying a mixed gas obtained by mixing a raw material gas comprising a 4C or greater monoolefin with a gas comprising molecular oxygen to a reactor, subjecting the mixed gas to oxidative dehydrogenation in the presence of a catalyst to obtain a product gas comprising a conjugated diene, bringing the product gas into contact with an absorbent solvent to obtain a solvent absorption liquid, subsequently degassing the solvent absorption liquid, and subsequently isolating/recovering the conjugated diene from the solvent absorption liquid by distillation, is characterized in that the absorbent solvent contains a polymerization inhibitor in an amount of from 1 to 3,000 ppm by weight and the concentration of a peroxide present in the solvent absorption liquid is kept not higher than 100 ppm by weight by heating the solvent absorption liquid.
