INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, SYNCHRONIZATION CORRECTION METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make reproduction timing of a content in a master unit coincide with that in a slave unit by performing appropriate correction on the slave unit side to make a sampling frequency of the master unit coincide with that of the slave unit by periodically performing a query from the slave unit to the master unit. SOLUTION: A information processing apparatus includes: a transmission part for transmitting a query request for querying another device for a count value held by the other device; a reception part for receiving a return of the count value from the other device; a correction part for performing, at a predetermined period, correction for synchronizing the device with the other device by adjusting the sampling frequency thereof to that of the other device based on the count value from the other device received by the return reception part; and a reproduction part for reproducing a content by adjusting the timing to that of the other device based on the sampling frequency. The correction part performs correction by considering a to-and-fro delay time between the transmission of the query request and the reception of the return and residual difference having occurred upon the previous correction.
