TELEVISION RECEIVER AND VIDEO DISPLAY SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver and a video display system which automatically select an external device, and carry out an operation if a user requests the predetermined operation to the predetermined external device. SOLUTION: When a control unit 111 of the TV receiver 1 determines that the request of the predetermined operation for the external device is received, the unit 111 obtains a processing content of each device, and determines whether the device is predetermined as a device which performs the operation (S4). If it is determined that the device is predetermined (S4:YES), the unit 111 instructs the control unit of the device (S12) to perform the operation. If the control unit 111 determines that the device can not be predetermined (S4:NO), the unit 111 displays a user selecting screen (S7), and determines whether the device selection is received from the user (S8), if it is determined that the selection is received (S8:YES), the unit 111 instructs the control unit of the device to perform the operation (S12).
