PASSING VEHICLE IMAGING METHOD AND IMAGING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passing vehicle imaging method and an imaging device for accurately and automatically imaging and recording the license plate of an illegal vehicle which passes without payment, the face of the driver, and the image of the passing vehicle or the like regardless of the brightness of an external environment or the type of the vehicle. SOLUTION: The passing vehicle imaging device is provided with: a moving image camera 12; a still image camera 14; a recording device 20; an infrared projector 16; and a controller 18 for controlling the above equipment. On the basis of a moving image captured by the moving image camera 12, the controller 18 detects the passing vehicle 22 from the change in output of the moving image. When the brightness of the moving image detected on the basis of a predetermined range of the moving image is equal to or less than a predetermined brightness, the infrared projector 16 is actuated. The imaging timing of the passing vehicle 22 is calculated, and the still image of the passing vehicle 22 is captured by the still image camera 14 at the timing. On the basis of the still image, the driver's position of the passing vehicle 22 is detected. The shooting conditions for the driver's position is calculated, and a parameter for imaging is set. The passing vehicle 22 is imaged by the still image camera 12, and the imaging data are recorded in a recording device 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
