Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily and inexpensively produce a Cu-Ni-Si based alloy that shows optimum tensile strength as a sliding material for a motor and is excellent in 0.2% proof stress, elongation, hardness, thermal conductivity, fatigue strength under alternating stress condition, seizure resistance and bearing performance. SOLUTION: A method for producing the copper alloy includes: conducting hot extrusion of a copper alloy composed of 1.5-3.0 wt.% Ni, 0.4-0.8 wt.% Si, 0.5-1.5 wt.% Cr, 0.1-0.3 wt.% Sn and the balance being Cu and unavoidable impurities; conducting solution treatment at 850-950°C; conducting cold drawing at a cold working ratio of 10-40% based on the original cross section; subsequently conducting an aging treatment at 400-500°C; further conducting cold drawing at a cold working ratio of 2-10%; and conducting an aging treatment at 400-500°C.
