Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process which enables safer operation and furthermore stable production of butadiene in a high yield in the process for producing a conjugated diene such as butadiene by the catalytic oxidation dehydrogenation of a monoolefin such as n-butene. SOLUTION: In the process for producing a conjugated diene by feeding a raw material gas containing a ≥4C monoolefin and a molecular oxygen-containing gas to a reactor to form the corresponding conjugated diene by oxidation dehydrogenation in the presence of a catalyst, at the time of start-up of the reaction, the feed rate per unit time of the raw material gas to the reactor is set at 80% of the maximal permissible feed rate in less than 100 hours from the initiation of feeding the raw material gas to the reactor.
