Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a high-strength steel plate having both of high strength in high dimensions and impact energy absorbing performance excellent in both of energy absorbing efficiency and joinability and suitable as a strength member for a vehicle. SOLUTION: This strength member is formed by joining the high-strength steel plate having inclination dσ/d of a stress distortion diagram between real distortion 3 to 7% determined in a tension test of ≥5,000 MPa and a steel plate having a tension strength ratio of 0.3 to 0.85 to a tension strength of the high-strength steel at both ends across a space extending in a prescribed direction.
