NAVIGATION DEVICE, MAP DISPLAY METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system 10 for reducing operations to be performed by a user to keep a recognizing positional relation between a current position and a target. SOLUTION: This navigation device 20 includes a database 25 for storing link data and map data; a current position calculation part 24 for calculating the current position of a vehicle, a route search part 21 for searching for a route from a departure spot up to a destination spot, a route guidance part 22 for outputting a guidance image for performing guidance of a direction for the vehicle to proceed at the intersection when an intersection to be guided exists within a predetermined distance ahead of the current position of the vehicle in a guidance route designated by the user, and a display control part 23 which divides the screen region of a display 11 into two, displays in one region a north-up map which displays a car mark representing the current position of the vehicle, together with a map whose upside represents the north direction on the screen of the display 11, and displays on the other region the guidance image output from the route guidance part 22.
