Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nanotube bulk material having excellent mechanical strength and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The carbon nanotube bulk material 100 includes carbon nanotubes 110 for constituting a matrix, and a polymer binder 120 interposed between the adjacent nanotubes. The polymer binder includes a polymer backbone and one or more organic moieties (moiety) which are grafted onto the terminal end or side face of the polymer backbone and each of which has a C3-C24aromatic functional group bonded to one or more hydroxyl groups. The method for producing the carbon nanotube bulk material includes the steps of: infiltrating a polymer binder solution, which is prepared by dissolving the polymer binder in a volatile solvent, into a carbon nanotube aerogel; and removing the volatile solvent to densify the resulting carbon nanotube aerogel.
