ELECTRONIC SETTLEMENT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a system that facilitates incorporating various electronic settlements. SOLUTION: An electronic settlement system includes a server and a terminal connected to the server, the terminal determines a physical medium identifier indicating a kind of a recording medium, the server selects a physical medium processing part for executing the first processing for the settlement, according to the determined physical medium identifier, the selected physical medium processing part conducts the first processing, and provides a choice for applications for processing the settlement to the terminal, using a data read from the transmitted recording medium, the terminal selects the application to be started up, from the provided choice for the applications, and transmits a settlement medium identifier corresponding to the selected application to the server, and the sever selects a settlement medium processing part for executing the second processing for the settlement, according to the transmitted settlement medium identifier.
