Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser diode drive controller that can achieve stable output light and a stable extinction ratio. SOLUTION: The laser diode drive controller includes: a temperature sensor 4 which detects the temperature of an LD 2 and outputs a detection result; a control unit 5 which acquires target light intensity Pave (2) of output light of the LD2 and a target extinction ratio Er (2) for maintaining an OMA (Optical Modulation Amplitude) of the output light with the Pave (2) based on the detection result, and outputs a control signal for controlling a bias current and a modulation current based on the Pave (2) and Er (2); and an LD driving circuit 6 which supplies the bias current and modulation current to the LD 2 according to the control signal. In the laser diode drive controller, the control unit 5 acquires the Pave (2) and Er (2) when it is determined that one or both of the detection result of the temperature sensor 4 and the bias current exceeds a predetermined reference value.
